We won’t have a meeting at the Library in November as that is Election Day.
We will be participating in the Veterans Day Observance at the American Legion Post on November 11, 2024.
Our service project for the month will be sorting eye glasses on November 16, 2024

The three Lions clubs in Cheyenne (Sunrise, which meets at 6:30 am, Noon, which meets at noon, and Frontier, which meets at 6:30 pm) have launched a new print newsletter, Community News and Notes, which will share information on the progress made in the Lions Clubs many missions –
* bringing awareness to diabetes, the leading cause of preventable blindness around the world
* the progress in curing blindness
* Lions clubs activities in Cheyenne and surrounding towns, including fundraisers.
We rebranded our November “Chiller in Cheyenne” cornhole tournament and fundraiser to “Throw for Sight.” This puts our signature fundraiser in line with the Sunrise Lions’ “Ride for Sight” and the Frontier Club’s “Shoot for Sight.”
As has been the case in the past, the director of our tournament was Paul Lopez of the Chey-town Cornhole League, and the Chey-town league members as usual turned out for the fun!
Sixteen teams vied at the Throw for Sight cornhole tournament!
Entry fees, divided 50-50, allowed us to give prize money to first, second and third finishers in the recreational and competitive divisions. Finishers were also presented with plaques honoring their achievement.
Entry fees, a 50-50 raffle, and a raffle for a Wicked Ridge crossbow from Cabela’s, plus the sale of “mulligans,” totaled up to $1,006 for the Noon Lions!
All funds will be divided between the Lions Clubs Vision Committee – helping needy residents of Larame County to obtain eye exams and eye glasses, and the Diabetes Awareness Committee – bringing awareness of diabetes to the Laramie County community.
Our 1st Annual Spring Fling Cornhole Tournament will be held at the Elks Lodge on Saturday, April 23.
Our Recreational Division, held from 10 to noon, is ideal for the casual player who wants to get out and have fun with his or her friends.
The Competitive Division will be hotly competed by experts at the game, so spectators will have a lot of fun!

Our service project for April 2022 will be to help celebrate Earth Day by spending a couple of hours cleaning up Lions Park.
We’ll rendezvous in front of the Scout Lodge, put on our bright yellow vests, and take our pick-up-sticks and head out on the trail that runs around Sloan Lake.
